Many Lyra plans cover 100% of the cost of treatment. And since there are many families who don't know they have the Lyra Healthcare benefit through their employer, we encourage all families to contact the employers of all household members to find out if this EAP benefit is available.
Each family member in the household usually receives their own allotment of sessions that resets yearly. Sessions alloted to the child or any of their caregivers can be used but not mixed. Families must contact Lyra directly to verify that there are at least 14 sessions available (factoring in the yearly reset of sessions) and whether they have a copay.

Finally, if less than 14 sessions are available (factoring in any yearly reset of sessions in the next 3-4 months), families may be able to continue under various Lyra extension plans or continue with their regular health insurance. Families can also apply for our sliding scale or Reduced Fee Options as low as $10 per session if needed to cover remaining sessions (see below).

We offer 6 insurance and payment options including Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). These accounts are provided through employers who allow their employees to select a certain amount of money they want to use for healthcare expenses, like for therapy, that the employees can use immediately. Then that amount is deducted in equal increments from future paychecks in the coming year. Families must verify the details of their plan with their employers.
Families can apply for one of our Reduced Fee Options as low as $10 per session if paying the full rate upfront is not an option or the over all out-of-pocket costs are out of reach.

Many families consider PCIT to be an investment that can pay off for their child's lifetime.

In-network benefits may be used if a separate application to the insurance company is approved for a “Single Case Agreement” at the family's qualifying rate on a reimbursement basis. This option may take 6-8 weeks for approval and may require completing an initial assessment to demonstrate medical necessity. Families can begin treatment before approval and then request out-of-network reimbursement if the single case agreement is denied. Schedule a free consultation to learn more about this process.
Also, we can submit out-of-network claims to the insurance company. Using out-of-network benefits requires families to pay upfront for services and be reimbursed in accordance with their plan. Some families are reimbursed 100%. After deductible most families are reimbursed 2/3 of customary charges. Schedule a free consultation to find out how much you would be reimbursed out-of-network.

Families can apply for one of our reduced fee options as low as $10 per session if paying the full rate upfront is not an option or the over all out-of-pocket costs are out of reach. Our reduced fee options include:
- The PC-CARE Parenting Protocol - Treatment in 6 treatment sessions
- Parent Only Strategy Sessions - Fee reduction of $105 per session
- Online Parenting Bootcamp - Costing almost 1/3 of our full rate
- Discounted Rates: The above rates can be reduced even further by applying one of the following discount options:
  - Package Rates - ranging from $50 - $800 off the full cost of treatment
  - Discount for emergency responders and childcare and healthcare professionals - $105 per session off the full price coaching sessions
  - Sliding scale rates for economic hardship - when paired with insurance options above may cover all of treatment
  - $10 sessions for foster, adoptive, guardian or relative/kin carer, adoptive, guardian or relative/kin care

Families with HMOs, Kaiser, Medicaid, Medi-Cal, IEHP, or other insurance plans may be able to use their in-network benefits if a separate application to the insurance company is approved for a “Single Case Agreement” at the family's qualifying rate on a reimbursement basis. This option may take 6-8 weeks for approval and may require an initial assessment to determine medical necessity. This option does not apply to Medicare.

Parent Only Strategy Sessions

With Parent Only Strategy Sessions, parents learn the phase 1 strategies of PCIT and all of the strategies from the PC-CARE parenting protocol in a discussion format with videos examples. Each week a child behavior plan is co-created with the therapist so parents can get on the same page and work together with strategies they both agree on. The Online Parenting Bootcamp

With the Online Parenting Bootcamp, parents and caregivers can learn about the phase 1 strategies of PCIT and all of the strategies from the PC-CARE parenting protocol in an online educational format with other parents who understand the challenges of parenting children with big emotions or challenging behaviors. Parents also watch video examples of real families using the strategies and always receive a weekly behavior plan specific for their child.

Discount for Emergency Responders, Childcare, & Healthcare Professionals

We provide a discount of $105 off the full rate per session for families with a parent or caregiver who is an emergency responder or works as a childcare or healthcare professional. This includes police and fire personnel, doctors, family therapists, speech/physical/occupational therapists, social workers, teachers, and daycare and congregate care workers and administrators.

And this rate can be reduced even further as low as $10 per session by applying for one of our discounts or package rates below. Those who qualify may also be interested in tax deductible, professional services where they can learn how to apply evidenced based strategies in their professional practices.

Discount for Foster, Adoptive, Guardian or Relative Care

All families are invited to make use of the FREE resources including the FREE, online Parent Support Workshop provided by Mending Hearts Family Counseling Center. Mending Hearts is a non-profit founded by our director to ensure all families who contact us have access to local resources within their budget nationwide.
