  • Lyra Members

    If you are a Lyra member and searching for another type of service, you must first cancel your online appointment with us (if you made one) in order to schedule with another Lyra provider. You can use this link to the Lyra portal to cancel and/or reschedule with another Lyra therapist.

  • Contacting Insurance

    To find a therapist who provides the type of support you seek, you can ask your doctor or pediatrician for a referral, or you can call your insurance company directly by dialing the number on your insurance card. You can ask for a list of therapists in your area who can work with the age and challenge for which you are seeking support. You may need to call 10 or more therapists to find one with availability. You can also request a free 15-minute consultation to see if they would be a good match for you.

  • Divorce & Custody

    Sesame Street Toolkits for Parents: Toolkit for parents dealing with divorce, including how to help your children adjust to two homes.

    Changeville: An interactive website for children, to help them learn about what to expect and how to deal with their feelings and emotions during their parents’ separation.

  • Infants (ages 0-1)

    Infants as young as newborns maybe able to receive in home support from Regional Center (in California) or the local school district (all the US) if the child was premature, medically involved, or has at least one developmental delay such as speech, motor, or cognition .

    Also, families can inquire about eligibility and availability for online coaching with Bright Life Kids for sleep issues, worry, social skills, and more. Sign up is Free.

  • Toddlers (ages 1-3)

    In addition to all the resources listed under “Children Ages 1-12”, families with toddlers can also use the PCIT-Toddler Directory to find a certified therapist near them. Also, the following videos have also been available for free by PCIT-Toddler.

  • Children Ages 1-12

    All families are invited to the Free, Online Parent Support Workshop provided by Mending Hearts Family Counseling Center, a non-profit founded by our Director to insure that every families can find resources within their budget.

    Also UC Davis Children's Hospital offers a Free PC-CARE Learning Center with videos to understand your child’s behaviors and strategies for strengthening the parent-child bond and managing behaviors. Disponible en Español.

    Families can inquire about eligibility and availability for online behavior coaching with Bright Life Kids for sleep issues, worry, social skills, and more. Sign up is Free.

  • Teens and Tweens

    You can call the number on your insurance card to ask for a list of therapists near you who accept your insurance and specialize in adolescents. Also, the following are resources for your consideration.

    • The book "Your Defiant Teen" by Barkley and Robin

    • Online teen support groups at Equilibrium Counseling in Rancho Cucamonga

    • For those in San Bernardino County, Loma Linda School of Behavioral Health Resiliency Clinic offers therapy from $10-$50 per session - (909) 558-6716.

    • A free web course on happiness for teens created with Yale University

  • School Behaviors

    Whether your child is home schooled or attends charter, private, or public school, you can contact your school district's special education department and request an IEP evaluation if your child is having trouble with school work or behaviors that interfere with school work. A psychologist may be able to evaluate your child and determine if any therapeutic support would be needed and helpful to address your child's school-related difficulties.

  • Autism & Functional Diversity

    You can contact your pediatrician or insurance company directly to inquire about an evaluation for autism and ABA support services that can potentially provide many more hours of in-home support per week than therapy.

    Also, your child may also qualify for Regional Center services if you live in California. If you live in the Inland Empire, you can call (909) 890-3000 to inquire about an evaluation.

  • Foster Care Resources

    If your child has been placed in foster care or you are a fostering a child, Sesame Street has created Foster Care Toolkit to empower you with resources for “rebuilding family structures and children’s sense of safety and personal stability.”

    Hamilton Family Counseling also offers $10 sessions for families caring for children in foster care with a priority given to parents seeking to reunite with their children and want to improve their parenting so they can provide a safe loving home for their children to return to.

    Because there is a shortage of services available for children in foster care, our Director has created a non-profit, Mending Hearts Family Counseling Center, which offers Free, Online Parenting Support Workshops to empower families with the basic principles PCIT & PC-CARE in an educational format as well as Free Referral Lists to certified therapists near them.

  • Selective Mutism

    If you child speaks in some situations but is hesitant in others, the Selective Mutism Association Directory has a list of providers you can search through to find
    help Please contact them to inquire about insurance options.

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    If you suspect your child may have OCD, the International OCD Foundation has a resource directory you can search through to find help. Please contact them to inquire about insurance options.

  • Children with Incarcerated Parents

    If your child or a child you are caring for has a parent who is incarcerated, Sesame Street has created toolkit for parents and caregivers to help children with coping when a parent or loved one is incarcerated.
